The philosopher argues that historically there's been a trend for our societies to converge in "higher levels of social organization". There’s a calculator for that, Zebrafish give new insight to sound sensitivity in autism. To deny this is to set oneself up for exhaustion. The Conversation

Each smart bandage contains a chemical called bromophenol blue, and when it encounters a more acidic environment, it turns yellow. And in 2020, the public is also dealing with misinformation about COVID-19.

As chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov put it: "The point of modern propaganda isn't only to misinform or push an agenda. Keep in mind that just keeping a wound clean and covered is just about as effective as using ointment. Social programs have helped the young and elderly, two of the most health-vulnerable populations, receive unprecedented levels of care and attention. They work. That would depend on the "severity" of the problems.

- some singletons could be created by force - think Ghenghis Khan, Napoleon, Nazis and whatever new dictator is waiting in the wings. This would obviously render them useless, and so they're administered only sparingly to bacteria that have tested as resistant. Philosopher Nick Bostrom's "singleton hypothesis" predicts the future of human societies. The legendary actor and martial artist's daughter, Shannon Lee, shares some of his wisdom and his philosophy on self help in a new book titled "Be Water, My Friend: The Teachings of Bruce Lee.". Bruce Lee: How to live successfully in a world with no rules ... An endless flow of information is coming at us constantly: It might be an article a friend shared on Facebook with a sensational headline or wrong information about the spread of the coronavirus. Whether the singleton will be positive or negative depends on numerous factors and is not certain. Studies show disparities in wealth, race, and online access have disproportionately harmed underserved U.S. communities during the pandemic. The blister had no protection whatsoever and it was extremely painful. I LOVE THE FLEXIABLITY AND DURABLITY THIS PRODUCT HAS. Hurts and stings, looks like only the outer edges of the band aid, unfortunately they are big band aids. In assorted sizes, these sterile bandages have NEOSPORIN ® antibiotic ointment right on the pad, and provide a 4-sided seal that protects against dirt & germs that may cause infection & delay healing. Improved surveillance and communication, mind-control tech, molecular nanotechnology and artificial intelligence could all bring about a singleton.

While some aspects of such technologies could certainly be unwanted and infringe upon individual freedoms, Bostrom thinks that there are situations in which there could be broad support for either a technological solution or a single government agency to take control of the society. One view of that trend sees increased power going to multi-national businesses and world government bodies, making globalization somewhat of a punching bag concept, often seen not as a needed re-organization of societies around the world, leading to increased cooperation and a peaceful international order, but rather for its potential to bring about the loss of jobs and undermine the sovereignties of individual countries, making citizens beholden to faceless totalitarian bureaucrats from foreign lands. But discussions about the harms of polarization often overlook the toll polarization takes on our ability to gain and share knowledge.

That can happen in at least two ways.

First, as philosopher Kevin Vallier has argued, there is a "causal feedback loop" between polarization and distrust. Thank you! As James Madara, CEO and executive vice president of the American Medical Association, wrote on the organization's site: "The U.S. health system that exists today is a hodgepodge of ideas, programs, and regulations that is both extraordinarily expensive and highly inefficient. Products bearing this trademark have no connection with the American National Red Cross. Even though these band-aids were expensive, it did its job.
